‘Five Books That Could Save Your Life’ Tour
Domestic abuse experts Madeline Mc Aleer, Danielle Roberts, Helen Crickard and Noelle Collins examine the destructive impact of coercive control and discuss ‘Five Books That Could Save Your Life’ with Sarah Harte, Irish Examiner columnist.

The ‘Five Books’ project will run throughout 2025
30 May: Titanic Experience, Belfast
11 June: Seamus Heaney Centre, Queen’s University Belfast
Dublin (TBC)
20 November: Webinar with authors – Book Here
The panel examines why victims of coercive control find themselves trapped in ‘invisible chains’, explores ‘dangerous relationships and how they end in murder’ and considers barriers to recognising and responding to coercive control. They discuss why a radical new all-island approach is essential to eliminate domestic, sexual and gender-based abuse from our society.
