Socio–Ecological Model

The Socio-Ecological Model broadens the understanding of Violence against Women. Violence against Women is learned and reinforced through individual and relationship experiences, gender stereotypes, familial, social, cultural, traditional, legal and institutional influences. Effective intervention and prevention work must address the interaction, reinforcement and intersectionality of the factors which lead to violence against women and children being embedded into the fabric of a society.
